To some, Marbella may just be a destination for hot beach days and lounging around by the pool in the height of Summer. However, there´s nothing like the exploration of Marbella in the off-peak season, free of the hustle and bustle of tourism. Marbella has so much to offer in the cooler months while mantaining its microclimate and we´re here to tell you why..

Given Marbella´s incredible location, you´re spoilt for choice with hiking options from Istán, Serranía de Ronda and Refugio de Juanar. The scenery is simply stunning and the cool breeze allows you to fully appreciate your surroundings without the sweltering heat that the Summer months bring.

Beach Promenade

If you’re not one for intensive hikes or heights for that matter, the beach promenade in Marbella provides visitors with a ten-mile route which you can enjoy on foot or by bike. Soak up the gentle sea breeze whilst finding your way from one destination to the next. This route is particularly fantastic at sunset or sunrise where the skies light up in in an explosion of oranges and pinks.

Play Golf

Marbella is world famous for its golf and the off-peak season is renowned to be the best time to play. Autumn and Winter are known for the right temperature and best visibility amongst golfing fanatics. Furthermore, there are less players, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the game and your surroundings.

If you like to shop, whether it be in the array of designer stores in Puerto Banus or the chic boutiques in Marbella´s Old Town, you can enjoy a stress-free visit free of queues in the off-peak season. Have all the sales staff at your disposal and the shops to yourself which makes for a more enjoyable and relaxing retail experience.

A Day Trip

In the cooler months, the traffic is lighter and the crowds are fewer, making it the ideal time to venture out of Marbella to visit the surrounding towns and cities. Ronda is a firm favourite with its Andalucian charm and incredible Tajo Gorge. There is also Granada, Mijas and Malaga city just to mention a few of the fantastic day trips you can make when staying in Marbella. Fancy some skiing? You can even visit the Sierra Nevada mountain range for a spot of action!
