Although we’re called Marbella Living, we always keep our eyes open for new areas on the Costa del Sol which offer property buyers more for their money and a great lifestyle. One of our favourite up and coming areas is Estepona’s New Golden Mile. This is the stretch of road from San Pedro de Alcantara to Estepona town, which has some lovely new developments, great amenities and plenty of Spanish charm. It is also very close to the bright lights of Marbella and Puerto Banus and within easy reach of Malaga Airport, so has a lot to offer.

Both San Pedro and Estepona have really changed for the better over the last five years or so. There has been a lot of investment in both areas, leading to new parks, playgrounds, public areas and facilities. The streets have been cleaned up and Estepona in particular is looking pretty as a picture. They are both developing an excellent reputation for good restaurants and a nice mix of International and Spanish living. Developments such as Estepona’s new hospital, which is due to open at the end of this year, are making a big difference to local residents. Because of this, demand for properties in and around these towns is growing and we believe will continue to grow, as people look for more affordable alternatives close to Marbella.

New Golden Mile properties are ideal, as they tend to be newer developments, with modern interiors and great facilities. As they are outside the main towns, you get more space and peace and quiet, even in the peak season, yet you’re within easy reach of shops, bars and restaurants. The golf in this area is excellent too, so it is a very attractive option.
